Some enhancing using photoshop

Postby Proach on Tue Oct 06, 2009 5:05 pm

Hi y'all

I really hate it when you have a nice pic/nice compo and then someone or something in the background ruins it.
Good example is the below. I did some cloning in PS. Just want your opinion; If you didn't know it was retouched would you know?

After looking, pls scroll all the way down and tell me what you think.

That looks real to me. If you just guessed at the distance, the out of focus effect looks spot on to my eyes.

Great job man. 8) It's fucked up how that looks like the more natural picture to me. CG gets better every year and it won't matter because our eyes will pick it up more intensely, but it works with that picture.

thanks Lippo. Just for the record, are we talking about the same thing? The distracting things in the Background? The out of focus etc. is straight as it came from my camera.

Actually, we are not.

I judged them in reverse. I thought you put the objects into the end result picture.

So I guess it passes the same test, I just managed to fail in the process. bwhaha

P.S.- Time to go watch my brother work his own art. Jam night behbeh. Your photography stuff is always amazing, I can't believe how many talented people we have here.

If I have to nitpick and have you point it out, the jag of grass where the people were justs up at 90 degrees in a way that probably would not be real. I would never had noticed this at all on my own without you pointing out that I ought to look for Photoshop work though.

Otherwise, great job.

I do have to say, though, that I like it better with the people in it. Having people in the background makes it more interesting in a "wtf where are you and what is going on?" kind of way.

That's good to know, thanks Sofa appreciated.

I think the deer inbetween them is already giving that 'wtf is happening' impression, to me, the figures in the b/g are distracting.
